Letter from the President November 2024 Letter from the President November 2024 Letter from the President November 2024

15 November 2024

Dear Yale-NUS community and friends,

We have had a fruitful year, with many community achievements to celebrate. This year, alumni and students have won awards at international events, received prestigious global scholarships, gained recognition for their research and projects, published books, and more.  We are so proud of them and can’t wait to see what else our students and alumni will accomplish in the coming years.

Over the past few years, we have been embarking on Legacy projects that tell our story and preserve our heritage as we move towards 2025. One of these projects is the College Legacy website, which showcases our history and what makes us unique. We invite you to take a walk down memory lane by checking out the new pages that have been added to the website. We showcase the timeline of Yale-NUS’ history in the Milestones page, with key events all the way from 2008 to the recent unveiling of the College sculpture, Mater, and take a deep dive into our curriculum across the Common Curriculum, Majors, Minors, Electives and collaborative degree options, as well as celebrate the teaching and research of our faculty.

The Yale-NUS Club is our community’s collective effort to ensure the continuation of our legacy post-2025. The club is autonomous, by alumni, for alumni, and continues to create opportunities for alumni to explore collaborations and opportunities. Early last month, the Club leadership gathered for a retreat at Yale University and had a fruitful discussion on key areas such as alumni programming post-2025, international alumni outreach, and a communications pipeline. You can find out more about the Club at this link, and if you wish to be updated on its activities, you can sign up for communications here. Yale-NUS alumni events enable the alumni to come together to maintain relationships and deepen connections with one another, and you can visit this link to find out how you can support this.

We could not be more grateful for your support, which has made so much possible all these years. As always, we are so thankful, and hope to continue to stay in touch.

Sincerely,

Joanne Roberts
President, Yale-NUS College
