Yale-NUS College’s Academic Calendar Structure
Yale-NUS College’s standard academic calendar has the following structure:
- It consists of two semesters i.e. Semester 1 and Semester 2.
- Each semester comprises 13 weeks of instruction and 2 weeks of end-of-semester examinations.
The tables below present the basic chronological structure of the two semesters, in any academic year.

1Semester 1 commences on the second Monday of August of each year. Semester 2 commences on the second Monday of January of each year. Semester 2 may start on the third Monday of January in some academic years to maintain a 5-week vacation in December/January.

4The 2-week period that starts from Saturday after Reading Week and ends on the following Saturday.
