The Student Affairs Office (SAO) dedicates itself to providing support to the students of Yale-NUS in all of their endeavours. The SAO oversees residential and co-curricular programmes, which include student life programming and student support, as well as international and professional opportunities. Take the opportunity to learn more about how we support students through our residential curriculum, campus engagement, internships, and experiential learning opportunities. Say hello when you see us on campus!
SAO employs a transformational framework for students to be supported and coached the skills and attributes required to be engaged and responsible global leaders. As part of the residential community model, students are encouraged to develop and participate in learning opportunities that facilitate their holistic growth and understanding of self and others. Students develop creative problem-solving strategies through applied learning and are prepared to navigate adversity with confidence and courage.
Working closely with students and faculty, we provide co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities for students to further pursue their intellectual interests, develop leadership skills, create inclusive and supportive communities on campus and off campus, and engage in meaningful volunteer activities, internship programs, and community-based work beyond the campus. Through intentional programming and personal interactions, students are guided to make meaning of their experiences in and out of the classroom. In so doing, they gain skills to excel in their personal and professional endeavours, and to impact their communities at Yale-NUS and beyond.
