Learning at Yale-NUS is truly global in nature, beginning with the Common Curriculum, where students engage with ideas and texts from across Asia, the West, and beyond. Students further develop a global perspective as they deepen their knowledge through globally-informed specialised electives and courses in their majors.

Many students also choose to broaden their global understanding with an immersive international experience. Through a semester spent studying or interning abroad, students experience living in a new environment, strengthen their intercultural competencies, and deepen their networks around the world. They then bring these perspectives back to campus, further enriching classroom discussions as they share their learning with classmates. The Yale-NUS community is also enriched each semester by the presence of exchange and visiting students, who bring perspectives from their own campuses and countries to further diversify our college life.
