P.S. (Peer Support) We Care is a student organisation founded in 2013 by the inaugural class of Yale-NUS. It works closely with the Yale-NUS Counselling Centre to provide peer counselling/support for students. The group consists of warm and passionate students from all majors and operates on an open-door, walk-in basis from 9 PM to midnight, six days a week.

P.S. We Care’s core principles for peer counselling are that of being non-judgmental (accepting the counsellee and their experiences without judging or holding them to a specific moral standard), non-directive (to listen and support without directing the counsellee’s course of action), and confidentiality. Peer counsellors receive internal and external training to develop active listening skills, crisis management techniques, and knowledge on mental health disorders. Through its services, P.S. We Care hopes to contribute to a culture of care at Yale-NUS College where the community enjoys a safe, welcoming space and strong peer support.

Community-Based Engagement

P.S. We Care hosts numerous events throughout the year to engage with the community. From art jam sessions, to movie nights, to workshops, the peer counselors provide safe spaces to explore community building in a supportive environment.

A group of students who wear masks are gathering, drawing, and coloring at the open space below Cafe Agora stairs, between Yale-NUS Multipurpose Hall and the Library.
