Mental health issues can be a source of stress and concern in college life. Moving from adolescence into young adulthood can prove to be more challenging for some than others. This page serves to highlight more prevalent mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.
Anxiety is a normal human emotion that everyone experiences at times. Many people feel anxious or nervous when faced with a problem at work, before taking a test, or making an important decision.
Anxiety disorders, however, are different. They can cause such distress that it interferes with a person’s ability to lead a normal life. People suffering from an anxiety disorder may experience extreme worry, a racing heart, shakiness and even panic attacks.
If you are experiencing these symptoms of anxiety, or just feel that you need further support for your mental health, feel free to chat with one of our psychologists during office hours.
