The Athletics Council provides leadership and representation for the athletics community at Yale-NUS College. It was created to advocate for the needs of student athletes by giving them a platform to voice their interests and concerns.
Founded in 2016, the Council is chaired by the Director of Athletics of the Yale-NUS Student Government, with all athletics team captains serving as members. The Council receives advice from staff members of the Athletics Department.
The Council actively promotes large-scale events such as the Inter-College Games (ICG) and Inter-Faculty Games (IFG), and builds collegiate spirit and pride through athletics. The Council also works closely with the Athletics & Recreation team in the Student Affairs Office to manage resources such as team budgets and training facilities.
