Sharon Brooks
Sharon C. Brooks is the Special Advisor for Strategic Engagement at Yale Law School, where she focuses on mentorship, diversity, inclusion, and equity, as well as strategic initiatives for the Dean. From 2007-2012, she served as the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, and oversaw the Career Development Office at the Law School. Prior to her return to Yale, she headed Career Services teams in Asia and the Middle East for INSEAD business school. She also previously served as Director for Counseling and Career Development at the Office of Career Services at New York University (NYU) School of Law. In private practice, she was a litigation associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and an antitrust associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. She is a graduate of Yale Law School and New York University. As a Yale Law student, she was an Articles Editor on the Yale Journal of Law & the Humanities, served on the Board of Directors for the Morris Tyler Moot Court of Appeals, and also held board positions with the Black Law Students Association and Yale Law Women. She currently serves as a board member for New Haven-based organisations: Community Fund for Women and Girls; and Leadership, Education and Athletics in Partnership (LEAP). She is also a member of the advisory board for NYU’s LAMP prelaw mentoring program.
