Ravi Chidambaram
Mr Ravi Chidambaram has over three decades of experience in the investment banking industry in the United States, Europe and Asia. He held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and Credit Suisse.
Mr Chidambaram co-founded TC Capital, a pan-Asian boutique investment bank based in Singapore which specialises in merger and acquisition (M&A) advisory and capital market transactions for mid-cap and large cap companies in Asia. It is recognised and awarded as one of the best independent investment banks in Asia and has completed numerous transactions aggregating billions of dollars. TC Capital has also created one of Asia’s leading AI- and machine tool-driven financial data mining companies called Datarama. With extensive and hard-to-get information on over 1,000,000 Asian companies and individuals, it has become a go-to tool for banks, strategic investors and funds.
Outside of work, Mr Chidambaram is also active in a number of areas, including arts, education and business. His knowledge of the impact investment space has led to various teaching and speaking engagements at conferences, think tanks and universities around the world. He was an Adjunct Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University teaching classes on investment and mergers & acquisitions from 2015- 2017. He serves on the Advisory Council of the Singapore Foundation for the Arts and Social Enterprise, a charity supporting the career development of promising Singaporean artists, and is co-founder of London-based record label Splash Blue.
Felix Momsen
Part-time Lecturer
Mr Felix Momsen grew up in Germany and Canada, and has worked for a sovereign wealth fund in Asia for more than 15 years across different functions (research, trading, portfolio management), asset classes (rates, credit, FX, equities), and geographies (developed, emerging and frontier markets). Most of his work has focused on direct investments, but he is also involved in the selection and monitoring of external funds. In 2017, he helped set up a boutique asset allocation firm, ClearMacro, in London.
Mr Momsen studied economics at Oxford University (MPhil), Harvard University and Bamberg University (Germany); he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Mr Momsen is passionate about macroeconomics, cyclical and secular cross-asset investment strategy, tactical asset allocation, as well as portfolio management.
Zhang Jianlin
Adjunct Senior Lecturer
Dr Zhang Jianlin is a passionate educator with more than 20 years of teaching and educational leadership experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Dr Zhang started his teaching career as a class teacher for Economics for Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Since then, he has taught a wide range of courses in the fields of economics, finance, and management to more than 10,000 students. Dr Zhang enjoys bringing life into the classroom and is particularly good at making abstract concepts concrete to students through innovative pedagogies such as classroom experiments.
Dr Zhang graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management with First Class Honours from the University of London (top graduate worldwide), a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from LSE (awarded the LSE External Scholarship, full scholarship) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the National University of Singapore (NUS) (awarded the NUS Research Scholarship, full scholarship).
Dr Zhang’s main research interest lies in the use of laboratory and field experiments to understand economic behaviours. At Yale-NUS, he teaches Behavioural Economics.
