
Pico Iyer is the author of ten books, including Video Night in Kathmandu and The Global Soul, and a longtime essayist for Time magazine, as well as a constant contributor to The New York Times, the Financial Times, Vanity Fair and many others. He has written film-scripts for Hollywood and liner-notes for Leonard Cohen, given TED talks and been a fellow of the World Economic Forum, appeared in CNN commercials and helped name an international soft drink. Born in Oxford, England, to parents from India, he was educated at Eton, Oxford and Harvard and has been based for the past 26 years in rural Japan.
This session will comprise four readings, to cover a variety of different genres and themes, and also a mini-lecture threaded between them. There will be lots of time for a conversation with Mr. Iyer.
