Dr Timothy Wertz received his Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics from Alma College, a small liberal arts college in Michigan, USA. He obtained his Master’s degree in mathematics from San Francisco State University. He earned his PhD in mathematics at the University of California, Davis. Dr Wertz joined Yale-NUS College in 2015.

Dr Wertz specialises in harmonic analysis, functional analysis, and operator theory. His primary areas of research are eigenvector localisation, spectral invariance, and Banach algebras of localised operators. His interests also include random matrix theory and mathematics education.
