Talk: Current Issues in Spanish Politics

The Languages Programme in the Humanities Division at Yale-NUS College is glad to invite you to a talk by Dr. Riambau on the current issues facing Spanish society due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Riambau’s fields of interest are political economy, applied microeconomics, ethnic politics and elections.

LECTURE TOPIC: Covid 19 has affected all countries in different ways. In this talk, we will discuss how Spain has responded to the challenges posed by Covid-19, and the consequences in political and social terms. How have children been affected? What has been the impact on sports and the arts? Has Covid-19 modified the political landscape? We will also discuss how different regional governments have addressed the issue, and we’ll try to draw some lessons to move forward.
