Modern Languages – Languages

After completing a language sequence, students will be able to:

Understand main ideas in a variety of conversational settings
Read complex texts, from different genres and of different lengths
Speak fluently and clearly in the target language

Chinese

Yale-NUS offers various courses in the Chinese Programme.

Spanish

Yale-NUS offers various courses in the Spanish Programme.

Singapore Sign Language

Singapore Sign Language

In collaboration with the Singapore Association for the Deaf, Yale-NUS offers ungraded sign language courses.

Yale-NUS also partners with Yale to offer language classes via teleconference.

Italian

In partnership with Yale University, students can study Italian via videoconference and benefit from a rich and intensive language experience.

Russian

In collaboration with Yale University, the College offers Russian courses at the beginning and intermediate levels.
