Capstone Published in Nature Communications
The capstone project of recent Physical Sciences graduate, Harshitra Mahalingam, was published in Nature Communications! Harshitra is 2nd author on the work titled “Visualizing designer quantum states in stable macrocycle quantum corrals”. She performed all the quantum field theory calculations, which were experimentally verified by her coauthors at NUS Chemistry. Under the supervision of Prof. Aleksandr Rodin, Harshitra precisely modelled the electronic properties of synthetic molecules positioned on gold surfaces. These atomically precise artificial quantum features are a powerful tool for exploring new and exotic states of matter. The publication is open-access/free and may be read at https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-021-26198-8
Publishing research in a Nature-family journal is a great accomplishment for seasoned scientists, so Harshitra’s achievement as an undergraduate is worthy of high praise! Congratulations!
