Come learn about the next big scientific advances in astronomy with Professor Chelsea Sharon this Friday Nov. 12th at 6pm. Prof. Sharon will be leading a discussion on the recently released US Astronomy Decadal Survey, which prioritises the next big telescopes to be built on the ground and in space, identifies the biggest open questions that are ripe for advancement in the next decade, and impacts progress in astronomy around the globe. The US Decadal Report is also a consensus document developed with input from the entire American astronomical community, and has become a model for community-driven scientific funding across the world.
